The history
of WIBEBA-HOLZ
from its founding in 1971 to the development of the company with the growth of sites and product range today.


1971
Founding of WIBEBA Hardwood Division in Purgstall/Erlauf as a subsidiary of the Vienna WIBEBA Construction Company. Two contract-cutting sawmills produced 6,000 – 8,000 m³ of hardwood.
2000
Establishment of a drying and logistics centre in Güssing.
2005
New construction of the sawing facility in Wieselburg with a capacity of 22,000 m³ and a 2-shift operation.
Building of a biomass heating facility with an output of 2 MW at the Wieselburg plant.

2015
Building of a log band sawmill at the Rönök location.
2017
Acquisition of the former Serenzo Flooring Industries GmbH in Heiligenkreuz.
Building of a 10.000 m² climate controlled hall and a roofed lumber camp at the Wieselburg location.
Construction of warehouses at the Wieselburg location.
TIME TRAVEL

1985
Relocation of headquarters to Wieselburg and startup of modern bandsaw facility with annual production of 20,000–22,000 m³.
1997
Acquisition of a Hungarian hardwood company in Rönök from the Forst AG Szombathely and the founding of WIBEBA-Hungaria Faipari Kft.
1991
Building of a solid wood production plant for single-layer panels.
1996
Change of owner through management buyout.
1992
Production start for solid wood panels using 5 main wood types with an annual capacity of 120,000 m².
1995
Nomination for the Austrian State Prize for Timber Marketing.

2007
Modernisation and expansion of the panel production plant in Wieselburg. Expansion of the product assortment to include fire doors.
2013
Building of a heating system with district heating for the brewery Wieselburg at the Wieselburg location.
Acquisition of a piece of land for expansion at the Wieselburg location.
2009
Building of a 4,800 m² open-air storage area and a 2,000 m² climate controlled hall at the Rönök location.
2012
Expansion of the panel production plant in Wieselburg und new construction of a 3,000 m² warehouse for solid wood panels.
40-year company anniversary and transfer of executive management to Markus und Wolfgang Sunk.
2010
Building of a 1,300 m² climate controlled hall at the Wieselburg location.
2011
Building of a 4,000 m² open-air storage area at the Wieselburg location.

2019

2020
Building of a
